There are pump girls, wedge girls, sneaker girls and…boot girls. I consider myself a boot girl. I love the way that boots signify the change of seasons and fortell of more fashionable clothes to come than the quickly thrown on maxi dress or shorts and sandals of the summer.

I also love the way boots flatter my long legs and how they add just that bit of fashion edge to take an outfit from just good to fabulous. There is no time that this is more important than during the holidays. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say that a good pair of boots can take a dress from elegant (with pumps) to super stylish.

I bought this little black dress (pictured above) to wear for holiday parties. It has the right sixties styling touches (like bell sleeves, a short length, a fitted yet body skimming shape) that make it seem current yet slightly edgy. But dressing it up with a pair of boots really takes it to a new level.
